October Bank Holiday Event – Safari Quest

Last Updated on September 24, 2020

Pack the whole family in the car and go on a unique adventure in a magic forest and space exploration at Palmerstown Estate this autumn.

This exciting experience is for families to safely enjoy an unusual safari quest from their car, perfectly COVID-safe. Kids are going to love this event. It smartly combines the use of technology by having an app to guide you through the experience and at the same time you get an amazing display surrounding you that is comparable to Wild Lights at Dublin Zoo.

During the quest, you enter different worlds such as the Land of Giants with performers, light shows and ginormous sculptures that you can look at from your car. While you are in the world, Billy Brave guides you through the Safari Quest App to tell you interesting facts and things to look out for during the adventure. After each world, there is a multiple-choice quiz for the young explorers to answer. There are five unique worlds you drive through which altogether takes one hour.

How does it work?

Firstly, you download the Safari Quest App. When you arrive at Palmerstown Estate in Naas, you scan your ticket from your car and line up to follow the tour guides safari truck. This is a self-driving event and at all times you stay within your family bubble.

The app guides you through each part of the journey. Make sure your phone/tablet is charged and the sound is loud enough. Connecting your device to a speaker or the car sound system is a good idea. One person is the designated driver and another person takes the role of the navigator. The navigator enters the multiple-choice answers and guides the team through the adventure.

Who is it for?

This event is ideal for families with children between 4 and 14 years-old.

Because of the light show, the event does not start before 5 pm each day. If your children are younger, going at an earlier time might be more convenient not to be in total darkness.

How much is it?

The tickets are between €70 and €90 depending on the time of booking and the size of your group. Refunds (excluding the €5.90 booking fee) and rescheduling are possible if COVID restrictions do not allow you to travel. This event starts on the October bank holiday weekend (24th of October) until the 15th of November. The ticket sale is on now. Keep an eye on the Facebook page to enter for competitions to win family tickets

This event is perfect for these uncertain COVID-times to have an unforgettable family experience that is fun and exciting during this autumn midterm break.
